It was a hot day outside and unfortunately it was pretty warm indoors too. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the atmosphere up until when it was time to leave. The food was enjoyable (I got a turkey melt which is really good as long as they remember to add the greens-- he forgot but added some after I took my first bite, and an iced honey espresso which is good for my people who don't like overtly sweet beverages e.g. you drink americanos but want something a little sweeter) as is the interior decoration (enjoyable that is--) but I don’t appreciate the treatment I received towards the end of my stay. To provide context, business was relatively slower than earlier towards 3-4pm and so the worker decided to close early (understandable but that’s not my fault or business and he also didn't even tell me until I felt the atmosphere tense up and tried to verify with him that the cafe does close at 5pm to which he then finally told me he's deciding to close early because business is slow). I went there around 1pm to study for a license exam expecting to stay until 5pm as the hours listed on Google say which is in fact their closing time. I only chose this cafe because they close later than other cafes in the area. I'll be honest, the biggest reason it seems he was eager to close early was because a family came in that was well acquainted with the only worker on shift there and after they dined, the worker wanted to close early. Again, his closing early due to "slow business" is not my fault and therefore not my problem but I still tried to leave as quickly as I could in respect to him but I was waiting for my Uber ride. As I'm mentally praying for my Uber ride to hurry up, the family’s kid (there were two and although I didn’t really mind, rather rowdy the entire time they were there which was about a hour and half) built pressure with passive aggressive remarks towards me trying to get me to leave. It was a kid but I still lowkey felt harassed because the kids were being rowdy and their parents would scold them but inadvertently use my presence as a customer for the reason to discipline them? So overall, I felt kind of targeted by that family with passive aggression (mind you, I said nothing and kept my eyes glued to my laptop to study, but I could hear them and occasional glances at their faces kept me informed on feelings towards me. I was really uncomfortable by that family's behavior as much as I try to brush it off and hurried out as soon as my Uber arrived. It was a good experience until I was pressured to leave earlier than I expected by family friends (I overheard bits of their conversation because they weren't the quietest by any means) of the worker. I think it was unfair that the worker decided to close early although I as a paying customer was actively in there, studying. I'm upset I lost an hour of studying and that they expected me to be able to leave on their demand when I was waiting for my Uber ride which is also not in my control. I expected more hospitality as a paying customer or at least more patience from these people because their impromptu plans infringed on mine. :/ Do what you will with this experience. Hopefully your experience will be better than mine. Mind you this experience isn't enough to deter me from coming again because the food and interior is really nice when there aren't interactions like that to deal with. Things were peaceful and relaxing although temperately hot before that family arrived.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 100/10 – A Beautiful Gift to the Community The Healing Grounds Café is truly a gem and a beautiful gift to the neighborhood. From the moment my friends and I walked in, we felt the positive vibe. The warm decor and cozy atmosphere immediately made us feel at home. It was clear this wasn’t just another café—it’s a space that invites connection and comfort. We were greeted with a genuine smile and a couple of friendly head nods from behind the counter, which felt so welcoming. Our order was taken quickly and kindly, right after they finished serving another customer. The whole experience felt personal and respectful. The food and drinks? Absolutely amazing. I tried a couple of their cold drinks and was blown away by the flavor and freshness. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. It’s clear that care and intention go into every item on the menu. I wholeheartedly recommend Healing Grounds Café to anyone looking for great food, great vibes, and a place that truly feels like it’s part of the community. As for us—we can’t wait to come back!

Went here for breakfast today looming for a new coffee spot. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the French toast and the breakfast sandwich. Both were equally incredible and I would recommend both. Had an iced latte with the maple spice flavor and my partner had a cold brew with coconut flavor. The coffee drinks were very good, not too sweet and not bitter at all. Lots of tables and comfortable seating options. Good chill music that wasn't loud which is always a plus. Free water, street parking, very friendly employees.
